About

Meet the Piano Expert

I have recently retired as a professor of music at Grossmont College in San Diego, with prior teaching experience at Southwestern College, Cuyamaca College, and Mesa Colleges. I have held board positions—including first vice-president and Bach Festival chair—with the Music Teachers’ Association of California. Additionally, I am an active member of the Jazz Education Network and participate regularly in its annual conference. In addition, I have taught private piano lessons in my home for 30+ years, cultivating several award-winning students.

Love for Music

I have experience teaching all ages at all levels, finding joy in the challenge of tailoring lessons to each individual. With many years of experience in music lessons, I provide award-winning instruction to my students. I’m motivated by their love of music and the passion for transferring their knowledge and skills to others so their creativity and talent can shine.

My Students

Four of my students have been admitted to Berklee College of Music in Boston. One of my students, Chase Morrin, has received a double degree from New England Conservatory and Harvard and a master's in Jazz Piano from Berklee; and is now a member of the faculty at Berklee.
Another student, Elizabeth Hull, tested out of two years of high school after attending the Berklee College of Music Summer Camp in LA and was admitted to Berklee on full scholarship the following semester. She has remained in Boston, continuing her college studies. She performs with her created group ATOMIC GUAVA.
